Tirana, the heart capital of Albania has a never-ending movement and energy. Tirana offers a mixture of some antique remains, Italian-style architecture of the 20th century, and communist buildings.
Meet at 09:00 with the guide in front of the Nationa Historic Museum in the center, we'll be introduced to a quick history of Albania. We walk through the center of Scanderbeg Square, and will see :
-The monument of Skanderbeg,
-Culture Palace,
-Et'hem Beg Mosque and Clock Tower.
-The monument of unknown solder,
-The Toptani's Saray (ottoman architecture of the 18th century)
-The remains of Castel of Tirana.
Short coffee time. We'll continue on National Boulevard with communist heritage buildings:
-National Art Gallery
-The Pyramid (mausoleum of the late communist leader Enver Hoxha, designed by his daughter)
-The ex-Head Quartier of ex-Communist Party
-The checkpoint monument (representing terror, paranoia, and isolation, as instruments of dictatorship)
-Mother Teresa Plaza
-The presidential building, and we'll end the tour through the area known as Blloku (literally the Block), where you can see
-The ex-prime minister of the communism time house and the Enver Hoxha house.
