Visiting the historical Ottoman town of Berat from Tirana is tricky without hiring a car. On this full-day tour, travel to Berat with ease in the company of a guide. Depart from your Tirana hotel and head to Berat. Stop at places that include the medieval castle district, ancient churches, and mosques.
Meet your guide at your location and start your journey to the historic city of Berat, one of Albania’s most unique and visited destinations. This UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for its well-preserved Ottoman architecture and rich history. Your first stop is Belshi Lake, a peaceful and picturesque spot near a small town. Take a moment to enjoy the natural beauty before continuing to Berat.
Next stop on the tour will be Berat Castle, located at the top of a hill. Accompanied by the guide, we'll tour this imposing construction and talk about its history. Did you know that it was burned by the Romans in 200 BC?
Then we'll visit another one of Berat's jewels, the famous Onufri Museum, located inside the Cathedral of the Assumption of Saint Mary. The church, which dates from the 18th century, houses numerous works by the painter Onufri.
Afterwards, we'll continue discovering other holy buildings such as the Lead Mosque, the King's Mosque and the Bachelors' Mosque. Following on, we'll go to the Gorica bridge over the Osum river, one of the most special places in Berat.
The tour will end returning to Tirana, arriving at your hotel at 3 pm.
